34 students of Kogi Poly expelled for certificate forgery and cultism - exclusiveloaded 3 4 students of Kogi State Polytechnic have been expelled for their involvement in examination malpractices, certificate forgery and cultism. The Academic Board of the institution approved the expulsion of the students for their actions which contravened the relevant sections of the Students Information Handbook of the polytechnic. The handbook stipulates penalties for involvement in examination malpractice, certificate forgery and cultism respectively. Some of the expelled students are said to be part of the “Examination Magic Centre” syndicate, recently uncovered by the institution at the Sarkin Noma area in Lokoja metropolis. Sacked NDDC IMC Under Probe For N6.2b Palliative Cash

On Thursday, November 17, the Senate commenced a fresh probe of alleged misappropriation of N6.2 billion by the dissolved Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The money was to provide palliatives to cushion the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. The investigation followed a petition by Chairman of the NDDC Palliatives Distribution Committee, Sobomabo Jackrich. Jackrich told the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges that the IMC, led by its immediate past Managing Director, Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei, squandered the fund. He added that he has all the evidence to support his allegation. The latest allegation adds to the list of other alleged misappropriated funds by the IMC which is currently being investigated by the Federal Government and at least two other committees of the Senate.
